Father-Son: Roger Clemens gave up a first pitch homerun to his son in Spring Training.
Marketing: The Liberty Tax service has an office around the corner from where I live. They have a man dressed like Uncle Sam that waves to the passers-by. Apparently this is not just a localized phenomena.

Discipleship: Roberto Benigni, the director of Life is Beautiful, gives his audience great advice about dscipleship, "May your steps move at the pace of [Jesus'] steps, fix your gaze in his direction."
Emerging: Scot McKnight writes a very insightful article "The Future or Fad?" I see this as a healthy critique from within.
Funny: Joe at the evangelical outpost has a hilarious account of the virtues of being ugly. My favorite quote, "There is a broad spectrum on the ugly scale with plain being on one end and carnie worker reject being on the other."
Not the Kingdom: A man weilding a knife that was approached by the police would not drop it. When he refused, one of the officers shot him with a taser. The only problem is the taser hit a lighter in his pocket and caught on fire.

Not the Kingdom: In a recent article in Christian Index Alvin Hobgood outlines a problem with the increased funding going to build megachurch buildings and it looks like the NAMB is already responding.
Book Review: Brendan O'Donnell reviews McLaren's A New Kind of Christian and ends with this statement: "...we won't feel it in our bones until we go out to the highways to bring in the poor and the lame and the maimed and the blind."

Parable: Doug Wilson tells a parable that reminds us that we must become like little children.
Cartoons: The Weekly Standard is one of the only American papers to publish the cartoons of Muhammad. Bill Kristol gives the reasons for the publication of these cartoons.
Marriage: A couple was able to stay at the Drake Hotel for $7 after presenting their 1946 receipt. My favorite part of the story: "Researchers found that pairs who put their partner's needs and wants over their own reported happier marriages." Unbelivable.

Homeless: Beggars and Homeless in the Twin Cities weigh in on their best, worst, last and dream jobs. Very interesting... My favorite: "Dream job: 'I'd like to be a pirate. I think that would be a good job. Just give me a treasure chest; I'll be fine.'"
IE 7 Beta, Google and ESV: Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2 has released. The browser has incorporated many of the features already found in Firefox. I also found that Google has released a new version of their now famous search bar and along with it comes the good folks at ESV who have released a "Search Button" Add-In for the Google Toolbar.
Wright: N.T. Wright has posted his speaking schedule and listed a few visits this year and next year in the states. Perhaps I will make it to one or more of these events.

Sports: Looks like Marcus is in more trouble. It sure is good that Virginia Tech parted ways with him.
Coffee: Getting some overpriced coffee is no longer so safe. Of course, I enjoy my Starbucks but am fortunate to not pay the high prices.
Dry Land: It appears that a man-made piling for a bridge does not count as dry land for the wet-foot/dry-foot policy. I am sure they will begin to work on another boat while in Cuba.

Movies: The owner of the Utah Jazz, Larry Miller, also owns a movie theater and he canceled the showing of Brokeback Mountain.
Wright: The fellas over at ref21 are pouncing on Wright's endorsement of Chalke's book, The Lost Message of Jesus. This is the same kind of guilt by association that we have come to expect.
SCOTUS: The WSJ has the inside scoop on what the preparation is like for a Supreme Court nominee.
